Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Kinto, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the Kinto application and website.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Kinto is designed for personal use — each account is intended for a single individual. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

Your content

Your journal entries and personal data belong to you. Kinto does not claim ownership over any content you create within the app. You retain all rights to your writing.

By using Kinto, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content back to you across your devices. This license exists solely to provide the service and expires when you delete your content or account.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Kinto in a manner consistent with its intended purpose as a personal journaling tool. You may not use Kinto to store or distribute illegal content, attempt to access other users' data, reverse-engineer the application, or use automated systems to abuse the service.

Subscriptions and payments

Kinto offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You can cancel your subscription at any time — access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're unhappy with Kinto, contact us within 14 days of your purchase and we'll work with you to make it right.

Service availability

We strive to keep Kinto available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We'll provide advance notice whenever possible.

Intellectual property

The Kinto name, logo, and application design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Kinto application without our written permission. This does not affect your ownership of your own content.

Limitation of liability

Kinto is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to protect your data and provide a reliable service, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Kinto after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Kinto will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco, California.
